ESRI International Conservation Program

This program promotes the role of US conservation organizations as Mentors in supporting and funding GIS projects overseas. It is based on the existing pattern of these groups to already be providing hardware, training, equipment and staff funding to their projects. We want to provide a similar channel for them to acquire ESRI software in support of their projects and country offices.

This program is open to US and European International Conservation Organizations. To apply, they must submit a proposal which states their agreement to the terms and explains how they will meet the requirements. US proposals will be reviewed by ESRI US, and European proposals will be reviewed by ESRI US and the respective european distributor.

The basic conditions of the new program are:

- Program is for Keyed ESRI PC Software at $100 for ArcView 3 and $250 for each extension.

- Mentors can join by submitting an overall proposal to ESRI.

- To participate, mentors must first send an annual report in which they list all proposed candidates for the year, of their own programs they intend to sponsor in GIS.

- ESRI will forward the specific contacts for each country to notify our distributors that Mentor X (i.e. WWF) has active programs in their country that they intend to provide with PC AV3, SA, and training during the year.

- We allow a month for the distributors to respond if they feel they need to, and if we recieve no negative reponses after a month we forward the now-approved list to the order center and notify the Mentor that they may now order against that list at any time directly from our 800 order center.

- Product is shipped only to the Mentor, who is responsible for shipping, customs and support onward into the final country as a normal part of their business in that country.

- Mentors can carry lists forward to succeeding years.

- Mentors can add supplemental candidates to a list as long as they allow a month for vetting with the country distributor.
